I have maintained this blog for the past 16 years
and it has almos a million access, as I did this little cibernetic space a
place for me to promote my literary work, talk about 'Cordel', a poetic genre
that was born in the North East of Brazil but it is currently present
throughout the Brazilian territory, declared about the IPHAN - Instituto do
patrimônio histórico artístico nacional - as an intangible heritage,
recognizing the importance of the Cordel.
I decided to do this post because in the last years, the major public of this blog has come from the US. In that way, I asked my son, Gabriel Nascimento, to translate this text, with the intention of thanking you for the attention to my content. I know that, among these readers on the US, there are Brazilians, to whom I would like to thank for their kindness in appreciating my production.
I'll continue to producing my verses in Cordel, talking about the natural and poetic beauties that populate this continental country. Most of the books produced by me are in the American Library of Congress, available for consultation by those who live in this northern part of America. I hope that the best of our literature reaches reading lovers in this nation so that they can broaden their, sometimes distorted, vision of Brazil. Here we have a vast culture, a vibrant people with everything we produce. If you wish to purchase my books, we will send them to you by post. Thank you for visiting my blog!
